Danny Joe Ford, 76, was born on October 7, 1940, to Noah Orville and Ruby Rue (Upchurch) Ford in Humphrey, Arkansas. He passed away on April 15, 2017, at home in Prescott Valley, Arizona.

Danny Joe Ford, 76, was born on October 7, 1940, to Noah Orville and Ruby Rue (Upchurch) Ford in Humphrey, Arkansas. He passed away on April 15, 2017, at home in Prescott Valley, Arizona.

Danny moved to Prescott with his family in 1955. He graduated from Prescott High School in 1958. Danny retired as a Financial Officer after 37 years of employment with the Veterans Administration. In his younger years he also worked for Prescott Parks and Recreation and the Arizona Interscholastic Association as a sports official in baseball, basketball, football and volleyball. Danny had a great sense of humor, a big heart and a special way with people. He coached T’ball and Little League for his sons’ teams for many years. He volunteered to help people with work, projects, and problems. The Coors Slow Pitch Tournament was organized and officiated by him for many years. He also had slow pitch and volleyball teams that played in city leagues. He was an avid reader and retained information that he shared with many people. Danny loved to hunt, fish, camp, and travel. Danny was preceded in death by his parents and brother Charley.

He is survived by wife Sharon Swope Ford; sons James Ford and Terry Ford (Patricia); grandchildren Lauren Seymore (Chad), Zane Ford, Zachary Ford, and Madison Ford; and great grandsons Lium Ford, Max Seymore, and Jordan Seymore. Also surviving are his sister, Vandalyah Rhodes; brother, Bill Ford (Patricia); numerous nieces and nephews; and longtime friends Rich, Ernie, Joe, Rick and Dave. There will be no services.
