Central and Northern Arizona Goodwills complete merger

Temporary closures scheduled, not including Prescott or Prescott Valley

Goodwill Industries of Central Arizona, Inc. and Goodwill Industries of Northern Arizona have officially merged following approval by their board of directors and Goodwill Industries on March 31.

The two organizations will combine operations effective immediately.

“We have come together to best serve the central and northern Arizona communities,” said Tim O’Neal, president and CEO of Goodwill of Central & Northern Arizona. “It will allow us to expand our work in Northern Arizona. We’re planning to add more stores, more employees and reopen closed career centers. We will also begin offering home pick up service in Northern Arizona in the coming months.”

The new organization will be called Goodwill of Central & Northern Arizona and will include 82 stores, three clearance centers, 22 career centers and employ over 3,500 employees throughout the Phoenix metro area, Prescott, Yuma, Flagstaff, Sedona, Cottonwood, Kingman, Lake Havasu and Bullhead City.

Over the next few weeks, Goodwill will be closing the Northern Arizona stores one at a time for a few days, then re-opening later in the week for a grand re-opening, according to a news release.

With each new re-opening, Goodwill will introduce new sales throughout the week including Senior Day Tuesday, Military and Student Discounts Sundays, Dollar Day Thursdays and every other week 50 percent off Sale Saturday.

“Our top priority is to provide the people of Arizona with the resources and support they need to secure sustainable employment and provide a better quality of life for them and their families,” O’Neal added. “We are confident that the merger will be an opportunity for us to significantly strengthen resources and deliver a higher level of service to more people in need.”
