Artful evening at Yavapai College set for April 21

Music, flowers, wine and sculpture all come together to create an art-full evening in Yavapai College’s Richard Marcusen Sculpture Garden on Friday, April 21.

Starting at 5 p.m., the event includes tapas, several red and white wines from the Southwest Wine Center located on Yavapai College’s Clarkdale campus, and an opportunity to learn more about the garden’s sculptures as well as the many varieties of iris that grace its beds.

Wandering the trails through the garden, guests will encounter YC art students explaining the various works of art and docents from the local Iris Society. In the amphitheater, entertainment will be provided by the musical duo, Not2Shabby. Vocalist Gena Soileau and Dwight Cameron with his koa wood guitar will offer a variety of songs.

“An Art-full Afternoon in the Garden” proceeds support two AAUW-sponsored scholarships for YC students. The Mary Alice Moulton Scholarship supports YC students by underwriting tuition for the students’ children at the Del E Webb Family Enrichment Center, while the Centennial Scholarship offers a stipend to a student enrolled in a STEM field.

RSVP deadline is April 12. For tickets, visit www.aauwprescott.net or the Yavapai Foundation website https://www.yc.edu/v5content/yavapai-college-foundation/artfull.htm. A portion of the ticket cost is tax deductible.
