Gluten free, vegan cupcake business
A new business called Hometown Cupcakes has opened at the Prescott Gateway Mall.
Owners Joshua and Shannon Diaz specialize in baking vegan and gluten-free cupcakes. The couple cook the cupcakes at their home and are leasing a kiosk near the food court in the mall to sell the sweets. They also offer cupcake catering for events.
The business is currently in its soft opening phase, but the Diaz’s plan to host a grand opening from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 8. Joshua said there will be face painting, balloon animals and an opportunity to get photos taken with their cupcakes. For more information, call 928-224-5912.
Chaparral Insurance acquired by RightSure
RightSure Insurance Group recently acquired the Prescott Valley-based Chaparral Insurance Agency.
Based in Arizona, RightSure is licensed to sell personal, commercial and life insurance products in 42 states. This represents RightSure’s 12th book of business acquisition. With this acquisition, Chaparral customers will have access to RightSure’s call center and its licensed team.
Goodwill hiring fest
Goodwill of Central Arizona is hosting a hiring festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 6 at the Prescott Goodwill Career Center, 1385 Iron Springs Road.
Goodwill Retail, Kastle Keepers, Quality Plastics, Arby’s and Hozhoni will be on site recruiting. They all have immediate hiring needs for open positions across a variety of industries and skill levels.
