The annual Pumpkin Festival & Corn Maze at Mortimer Farm in Dewey begins Friday, Sept. 30, and runs every weekend throughout the month, including Columbus Day. Visitors pay $15 per person. Kids ages 2 and younger get in free. For an annual pass of $35, individuals can enjoy the festival and farm through August 2017.
This year’s festival includes the 40-acre pumpkin patch and a 15-acre corn maze sculpted into Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton dancing hand-in-hand.
Festival goers will enjoy the Farm Animal Kingdom, Buckaroo Pony Corner, Farm Slide, Corn Bath, Roping Dummies, Obstacle Course, Straw Maze, Hay Rides, Barrel Train, Slack Liner, Stilt Walkers, Grandma Story Time, Fido500 Mini Dog Races and Pig Races. In the evening, enjoy the Haunted Maze, Karaoke, plus Pyroklectic Fire Dancers. The whole family will enjoy fun entertainment, craft and food vendors.
Oct. 8 offers a Tractor Pull Competition, Oct. 15 has a Pumpkin Carving Contest, Oct. 22 is the Chuck Wagon Cook Off, and on Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. and 1 p .m., students and businesses will compete in the Pumpkin Chuckin’ contest.
Festival hours are Fridays 12–9 p.m.; Saturdays 9 a.m.–9 p.m.; Sundays 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Columbus Day 9 a.m.–6 p.m. The Country Store is open daily from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. every day of the week. Mortimer Farm is located at the corner of Highways 69 and 169 in Dewey.
