The Yavapai County Elections Department on Saturday released its unofficial final results of the primary election.
According to the latest totals for the hot races, county assessor candidate Judd Simmons won over incumbent Pam Pearsall and David Stringer came out ahead for the second Legislative District 1 seat.
“These results are considered Unofficial Final and will not become Official until after the Board of Supervisors canvasses the vote on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. The Elections department will start counting write-in votes tomorrow, Sunday, September 4, 2016. Over 3,500 ballots will need to be manually examined in order to tabulate the official write-in candidates’ votes,” stated the release.
From the county’s 130,335 registered voters, 55,082 ballots were cast.
