Prescott Family Diner opening soon

Once home to a Chinese buffet and then a Prescott steak house, the roughly 8,000 square foot building at 520 Miller Valley Road (near the Post Office) will soon be home to a family diner.

Tally Elbayomy purchased the property in February and has been working on a complete overhaul of the building for the past several months.

“About 85 percent of the building is being redone,” Elbayomy said.

Elbayomy is modeling the restaurant after his four family diners in Pennsylvania. Once complete, the restaurant will have a modern 1950s look and feel.

The remodel is well on its way and Elbayomy is beginning to hire employees — about 40 for both front and back of the house — in preparation for an opening in the next few weeks.

A grand opening date is not yet set.

English Garden Tea Room patio grand opening

After months of preparation, English Garden Tea Room’s newly constructed patio is finally complete and has been approved for use by the City of Prescott.

To celebrate the occasion, the owner, Gidgette Moshier, is hosting a grand opening event on Sunday, Oct. 9, from 3 to 7 p.m.

There will be music with Doctor Paul on the patio, food samples, the Prescott Tea Ladies posing for pictures, raffles and giveaways, and drink specials.

New West USA office

West USA will soon be opening a new office off Highway 89 a few blocks north from the Watson Lake roundabout.

Pete Weaver, West USA of Prescott owner and broker, said the location will likely be open within the next week and will host a grand opening event in about three or four weeks.

The small stand-alone building will be the company’s second office in Prescott and its fifth in the Quad-Cities. It will mainly serve as a West USA of Prescott team office for Central Arizona Realty Group, which is headed by Josh Rice.

Since taking over the Prescott West USA franchise in January 2014, Weaver and his wife, Cindy, have doubled the company’s number of real estate agents to a total of about 110.
