Obituary: Reva May Janson Burris
Reva May Janson Burris, Our wonderful, beautiful, amazing mother passed quietly and peacefully from this life on Sept. 29, 2016.
Reva May Janson was born on May 10, 1928 with her twin brother Russell in Phoenix, Arizona to John Alma and Henrietta Williams Janson.
She lived the majority of her early life in Phoenix, along with some time spent in Provo, Utah and Binghamton, Arizona.
She graduated from Phoenix North High School in 1946 and attended Brigham Young University with a music scholarship.
She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Paris, France in 1950 to 1952.
Upon her return to the states, she met the love of her life, Claude Emerson Burris. They were married in the Mesa LDS Temple on July 25, 1952.
She was blessed with many gifts in her long life. She was a gifted vocalist and pianist and spent a major portion of her life sharing her music gift with those around her. She taught voice and piano and was instrumental in teaching many, many children and adults the joys of music.
Her five children, Janyne Brimhall (Rodney), Debra Welly (Charles), Claude (Sandee), William (Becky), and John believe that she was the most wonderful mother in the world. She made our lives happy, safe and most of all, we knew without a doubt that we were loved.
She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in several positions, always remembering the importance of compassion and service to others.
She leaves her five children; 19 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Claude; and grandchildren William Janson Burris Jr. and Brandon Gale Burris.
Her funeral services will be held on Saturday October 8, 2016 at LDS Church at 1001 Ruth Street, Prescott, Arizona, with the viewing beginning at 10:00 A.M. and the funeral service following at 11:00 A.M.
