Chorale and Camerata cook up Fantasy and Figgy Pudding
Two groups of musicians bring Christmas sparkle and joy in two concerts this weekend at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Prescott. The 3 and 7:30 p.m. Fantasy and Figgy Pudding concerts take place Saturday, Dec. 3, at the church, 2000 Shepherds Lane.
Both concerts feature the Prescott Chorale and the Camerata Singers. However, the afternoon performance includes special guests, the Prescott Chorale Children’s Choir. Arrive a half-hour early to hear the Director’s Notes.
The program includes the “Seven Joys of Christmas” by Kirke Mechem performed by the Prescott Chorale. More traditional Christmas music, with arrangements selected by Artistic Director Dennis Houser, are unique, rich and wonderful and include “O Holy Night” and “Ave Maria.”
Melanie McCally conducts the Prescott Chorale Children’s Choir, which performs “Snowfall Lullaby” and “A Merry, Merry Christmas to You!”
The Camerata Singers, directed by Dan Boyce, will premiere a new composition by local composer, Henry Flurry, titled “Hark! What Celestial Notes!” during the evening performance.
Tickets (adults $18, students 12-17 $5, and children free) are available at the door or online at http://prescottchorale.org/
