Cooking with Diane: Citrus Buttermilk Pie
With the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, this is a delicious pie to add to your other holiday desserts. It can also be served with a dollop of whipped cream.
Citrus Buttermilk Pie
1 9-inch pie crust
1 cup sugar
1½ cups buttermilk
4 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon orange or lemon zest
Prebake the crust at 350 degrees, then let it cool.
In a large bowl beat eggs well, then stir in sugar and flour and beat until smooth. Next add in buttermilk, melted butter and vanilla, stir until well blended. Pour mixture into prebaked shell and bake 40 minutes. Let cool for 2 hours, then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
