Obituary: Beth Gladys Niebuhr (Enersen)

Beth Niebuhr was born on August 6, 1939 in Dell Rapids, South Dakota, and she passed away at her home in Prescott, Arizona on November 6, 2016.

Beth grew up in the Midwest and graduated from Lincoln High School in Webster City, Iowa. She expanded her great knowledge and love of music by earning her BA in Music at the University of Iowa. Beth married Robert Howar in 1959 and became an elementary school teacher and music instructor in both Iowa and California.

She started Above All Aviation flight school in Santa Barbara, California, where she was owner, operator, and instructor. Flying was not only a job for Beth, it was also her passion. She was a member of The Ninety-Nines, and participated in the cross-country Powder Puff air races. She retired from the flight school to move to Prescott, Arizona after she married Don Niebuhr in 2001.

In Prescott, Beth started a web design business, a second business that provided services for entrepreneurial women, and enjoyed supporting local and national civic and social groups. She enjoyed attending the Phoenix Symphony, listening to her extensive music library, collecting art, participating in book club, and hosting parties and get-togethers for her friends and relations.

Beth is survived by her husband of 15 years, Don Niebuhr; son Greg Howar; daughter Christa LeVieux; and brother Paul Enersen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Grace Enersen; brother David Enersen; and first husband Robert Howar.
