Ceremony today in Prescott honors fallen veterans

PRESCOTT – The preparation work is complete and the Prescott National Cemetery will be the site of a Memorial Day ceremony today, May 30, at 11 a.m. by the National Cemetery Administration.

Guest speakers will include Prescott City Council member and Mayor Pro Tem Jim Lamerson and Prescott Valley Council member Mary Mallory.

The service will include a presentation and posting of the colors; a procession of local veteran service organizations, the Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem.

There also will be an invocation and guest speaker remarks with a wreath presentation, dove release, rifle salute to the fallen followed by “Taps.” The ceremony will conclude with a benediction and closing song.

Shuttle service will be available from the Northern Arizona Veteran Affairs Health Care System beginning at 10 a.m.
