Charles Becker, 87, of Prescott Valley, Arizona, passed away May 5, 2016, in Prescott, Arizona. He was born April 3, 1929, in Downs, Kansas, to Casper and Susanna (Lutgen) Becker.

Charles was born and raised during the depression and dust bowl days in Kansas with only an eighth-grade education. He lived an accomplished life and worked in many professions, including farmer, custom combining, welder, carpenter, electronic technician, building and testing radio circuits that went into the first Saturn V rocket with Lear Siegler Corporation. He went on to repair plotters with CalComp, traveling the world for more than a decade. He finished his working years as a back hoe owner/operator with his own business.

After retiring in 1994, he and his wife, Virginia, relocated to Prescott Valley from Southern California, where he was able to hone his skills in woodworking and metal working building beautiful gifts for family and friends. He also built some very detailed scale models of farm equipment he grew up with. His talents, knowledge and humor will be missed by those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; son Douglas; daughter Kathleen; and granddaughter Ashley.

Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. and Mass at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 at St. Germaine Catholic Church, 7997 Dana Drive, Prescott Valley, Arizona.
