Several years ago, Tim’s Family Auto Group began a small fundraiser for the Prescott High School baseball team that has grown into a quad-district fundraiser assisting four area high schools. The Quad-District High School Car Fundraiser now supports Prescott, Chino Valley, Bradshaw Mountain and Mayer high schools. During this past school year, sports booster clubs, service clubs and site committees from each school sold raffle tickets for a new 2016 Scion iA four-door sedan. The tickets were $20 each, and all of the schools selling tickets kept a hundred percent of their ticket sales.
On Saturday, April 16, the winning ticket was drawn by Sandy Moss from AZTV7 and Leza Dandos from Magic 99.1 FM, and PHS Girls Varsity Basketball Coach Bobbi Yoder was the lucky winner. PHS clubs, sports teams and the athletic department collectively raised over $32,000 from the sale of the raffle tickets. According to PHS Athletic Director Missy Townsend, this makes it one of the schools most successful fundraising campaigns on campus. She added, “All of us at PHS would like to thank everyone at Tim’s for making this fundraiser possible. It has been a huge success, and is greatly appreciated.”
High school service groups have utilized the funds for academic competitions, to help families in need in their communities and to support local community projects. Sports booster clubs use ticket revenues for field improvements, new equipment and scholarships, while site committees have utilized the money for facilities improvements. The raffle allows each school to assist not only its students and families but their communities as well.
Tim’s Family Auto Group is a huge supporter of the community and is pleased that what started out as a small fundraiser five years ago has grown into a campaign that supports so many students and community members. Over the last five years, more than $175,000 has been raised for the various area high school projects and scholarships.
