The Yavapai College Foundation (YCF) annual meeting will be from 11:30 am to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, in the Performing Arts Center of Yavapai College in Prescott.
Highlights of YCF’s accomplishments during the past fiscal year will be shared, new Board members will be elected and four awards for outstanding service and giving to Yavapai College will be presented.
During the past year, board members, staff and volunteers raised more than $1.2 million for YC programs and student scholarships. The YCF donated $665,900 to YC and provided scholarships to 267 students. Since beginning an endowment campaign in 2009, YCF has increased its endowed assets from $5.9 million to $10.2 million. Three YCF auxiliaries, Friends of Music, Friends of the Del E. Webb Family Enrichment Center, and Friends of the Southwest Wine Center, also worked diligently to raise money and awareness about these special YC educational programs.
The YCF Board includes 25 outstanding leaders from communities across Yavapai County. David Maurer, Cindy Nyman, Michael Rethman and Jeff Wasowicz will be elected as new Board members to serve three-year terms.
Four awards for exemplary service will also be presented. Honorees will include 1) Ben Andre, local businessman and civic leader who will be receiving the YCF Philanthropy Award; 2) John Amos, Chief Executive Officer, who will be accepting the YCF Organizational Leadership Award on behalf of Yavapai Regional Medical Center; 3) Vickey Lamotte, retiring staff member and Founding Director of the Del E. Webb Family Enrichment Center, who will be receiving the YCF Staff Excellence in Fundraising Award, and; 4) Ann Babinsky, who will receive the YCF Volunteer Service Award for her leadership efforts as President of Friends of the Family Enrichment Center.
