A 16-year-old boy was flown to Phoenix hospital by Guardian Air after a two-car crash at the intersection of Big Chino Road and Naples Drive in Paulden Saturday morning, May 7.

A 16-year-old boy was flown to a Phoenix hospital and an 11-year-old boy was transported to a Prescott hospital Saturday morning, May 7, following a two-car crash at the intersection of Big Chino Road and Naples Drive in Paulden.

Driving a Chrysler 300, the 16-year-old was pulling out of Naples Drive with his 11-year-old passenger at about 9:30 a.m. when the driver’s side of the car was struck by a full-size Ford truck, said Rob Zazueta, public information officer for the Chino Valley Fire District (CVFD).

“There was very heavy damage to both vehicles,” Zazueta said.

While the two boys sustained serious injuries, the man driving the Ford refused any transport to a hospital and denied any injuries.

Three engines from CVFD, a battalion chief and two Life Line ambulances responded to the scene of the accident.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
