Obituary: Chandler Jordan Hamby
Our beloved Chandler Jordan Hamby, 25, was born Feb. 14, 1991, in Phoenix, Arizona. He tragically passed away on April 29, 2016, in Prescott, Arizona where he was residing for the last 10 months.
In his younger years, Chandler loved to play chess, shoot hoops, play video games and spend guy-time with his dad and big brothers. As an adult, he developed a passion for music, especially Taylor Swift. Everyone who met Chandler fell in love with him. Chandler was known for his comical personality. He would make you laugh with his sarcastic ways and ridiculous impressions. Chandler had a tough guy exterior, but really was compassionate with a heart of gold. He truly loved his family and friends and they truly loved him. He was always the guy everyone could count on. Chandler had his ups and downs in life, but he fought his demons hard until the end. For the last 10 months of his life, Chandler was committed to a better life and he devoted himself to help many others do the same. Chandler’s family deeply loved him and were a strong support system for him.
Chandler is survived by his parents, Daniel and Michelle Hamby; siblings Levi (Jessica) DuBois, Jeffrey (Lindsey) Hamby, Kasondra (Randy) Kerr and Mariah Hamby; grandparents Richard and Patricia Handly; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Breana Hamby.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W. Thunderbird Road, Peoria with the funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. A special thank you to Bridges Network Solutions and the local restaurant that employed Chandler and so many others, giving them a chance at a better future.
