Pioneer Home annual Tea a success
The Monday Club, an affiliate of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, held its annual Tea at the Arizona Pioneer Home in Prescott on Tuesday, April 19.
Eight members of the Monday Club served an assortment of teas, cookies, fruitcake, cream puffs and also a Birthday Cake.
Lark Cyr, Arizona Pioneers’ Activities Director, opened the event with a welcome and then introduced Lynn McDougal, President of the Monday Club. Lynn introduced the Club members and gave a short history of the Club.
Next, Lark Cyr presented the birthday ladies: Ruth Pike, resident, was celebrating her 103rd birthday; Mary Francis Bosch, her 90th birthday; along with several other (younger) resident ladies. It was at last year’s Tea that Anne Lack, club member, and Mary Francis Bosch made plans to celebrate their 90th birthday together at the 2016 Tea, and it did happen as planned.
Barbara Thomasson, Club member and pianist, also celebrated her birthday at the Tea, played background music during the Tea and then conducted a “Sing-Along” of songs from years gone by with Club members Joan Reed, Lili Lagan, and Joan Stempski at the microphone.
A good time was had by all and we’re all looking forward to next year’s Tea!
