Obituary: Walter Woodrow Thompson

Walter Woodrow Thompson, 85, went to be with the Lord March 1, 2016. He was born in St. Francis, Kansas where he graduated from St. Francis Community High School.

Walter married Marilyn Ruth Alsbury in 1949 and went on to the University of Kansas, graduating in 1953 with a Physical Therapy degree.

Soon after graduation, he moved to Laramie, Wyoming to start his own Physical Therapy office. In 1965, he accepted a PT job in Tucson, Arizona, and a year later, he moved to Scottsdale, Arizona to again, open his own successful PT office. At retirement, he moved to Chino Valley, Arizona to fulfill his dream of having a small farm.

Walter was the father of three boys Richard Sidney (who greeted him in heaven), Merle Charles, Joseph Alsbury; one daughter Elizabeth Ann; 10 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on March 19, 2016, at Wakelin Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Cortez, Prescott, Arizona.
