U.S. Vets culinary grads honored

The U.S. Vets Initiative celebrated the graduation of two of its most recent culinary course graduates, Ramon Torres (left) and Owen Horton (right). They are standing together during their celebratory western-themed dinner of barbecue chicken, ribs, roasted corn, cowboy beans, German potatoes, watermelon, and chocolate cream and apple pies. The June dinner and graduation was attended at the U.S. VETS Initiative transitional housing program on Gurley Street by residents and guests. Food Services Manager Carolyn Baca, who runs the program, stands in the center.
