Bette L. Gehring

Bette was much loved by everyone that knew her. Her warm and gentle nature touched many hearts. She had an amazing zest for life and lived it her way until her last moment.

Bette’s smile and sense of humor brightened all of our lives, and she will never be forgotten

She was a long time Arizona resident, formerly of Bismarck, North Dakota.

Bette volunteered at Prescott Litter Lifters, Chamber of Commerce, Meals On Wheels and Noah Foundation. She was a member of Pioneer Mothers Club and First Congregational Church, Prescott.

Bette is preceded in death by husbands Paul R. Madsen and Carl B. Gehring; her parents; sister Mary Nessett; and special son-in-law, Tom M. Meckler.

She is survived by daughter Kathleen Meckler of Bismarck, North Dakota; special granddaughters, Julie (Dan) Cieslak of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Ann (Tadd) Bartley of Virginia; grandchildren Dion, Sheila and Paul Fuhrman of Bismarck, North Dakota; brother Harry B. (Evelyn) Russell Jr. of Delaware. Survivors also include five step children, Helen Isdal and Kathy (John) Peckham of Prescott, Arizona, Ruth Blondin of Minnesota, Rollin (Bonnie) Gehring of California, Carl (Darlyne) Gehring of Texas; 21 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Also many other family members, loved ones and friends.

No services are planned. Friends and family are welcome to a Celebration of Bette’s Life from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at First Congregational Church, Perkins Hall, 216 E. Gurley St., Prescott, Arizona

Special thanks to the staff of Hospice Family Care and Welcome Home Residential Adult Care, LLC. And to all of her many friends and neighbors; whom she loved and cherished and were kind to her during her long blessed life.
