Obituary: Leon Neil ‘Skip’ Hansen

Leon Neil Hansen (Skip), 78, of Prescott, Arizona, passed away June 12, 2016, at home with his family.

Born Oct. 2, 1937, in South Bend, Indiana, Skip served his country in the U.S. Army, and was a retired police captain. He was a member of the Lion’s Club, a recipient of the “Melvin Jones Fellow Award.” Skip enjoyed back roading with his wife, family and friends, reading, watching sports, bird and animal watching.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, O’Beyra (Rusty) Hansen; daughter Deborah Feiker; son Robert Hansen; daughter Katherine Smith; brother Douglas Hansen; grandchildren Brad Feiker, Nicole Feiker, Robert Hansen, Ashley Hansen, Alexis Hansen; and great-grandchildren Rhett Feiker, Jackson Feiker and Michael Feiker.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, June 17, at Hampton Funeral Home 240 S. Cortez St., Prescott, Arizona. Following the service, the family invites you to join them at Hidden Valley Activity Center 1615 Coyote Road, Prescott. The family suggests donations in his memory to a charity of choice.
