Letter: Thanks Safeway employees

If you ever had a job serving the public then you know how rare it is that a customer will acknowledge their appreciation to you and let your manager know how you have gone beyond the job description to genuinely help a customer.

I have been a customer at the Safeway store in Prescott Valley for 20 years and as time has marched on and my medical maladies have made grocery shopping a major challenge, it is with the kindness of employees (past and present) that I have been able to pretend that I am independent.

I recently have added another medical malady to my repertoire of challenges so the answer was yes, we will be glad to do that for you. I thank you, Tory, Todd, Trisha, Debora, Alyssa, and those employees and stock clerks who only know me as “the tall lady that wobbles around the aisles.”

Without your continued help I would be on the waiting list for senior assistance that stretches out for months ... I would be hungry by then.

Thanks for remembering the cut of meat and quantity of particular goods I use on a regular basis and for always having the shelves stocked with those items. Thanks for reminding me if I don’t have the usual item in my shopping cart at check-out.

Most importantly, there are customers that appreciate your help. Remember that when you get a customer that is not grateful to forgive them for they probably have not seen exceptional customer service for many years.
