Prescott Art Docents’ membership reception is Aug. 15
On Monday, Aug. 15, the Prescott Art Docents offer an opportunity for people to join their nonprofit service organization of enthusiastic men and women who bring enriching art experiences to children and adults in the quad-city area.
“Kaleidoscope of Art” is the theme of this year’s membership reception, which will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Prescott Public Library Founders Suites A&B, 215 E. Goodwin St. If you love art, wish to learn about art and wish to talk art, Joslyn at 951-218-4820 or firstname.lastname@example.org will give you information about the Prescott Art Docents and the Aug. 15 reception.
There is no need to have artistic skills or a background in art history or teaching. Docents are given training, which has been condensed to a 12-week session, offered both in the fall and the spring of 2016-17 school year. Continuing art education is available through the Monday Morning Program series. Docent service opportunities include visiting classrooms using masterpiece art reproductions, giving art talks to adult groups, and participating in two programs, “Art in June” and “Art Days in the Library” in conjunction with the Prescott Public Library.
Personal enrichment opportunities include the Monday morning programs, which are talks that feature artists, architects, art educators, museum curators, and Docents, field trips to museums and galleries around Arizona, and a biennial adventure trip to major cities outside of Arizona.
