Letter: Found the love
Just commenting on Ken Sain’s editorial of June 22, wondering “Where is the love?” Quoting so-called Christian politicians, or pastors of churches, just inflames persons who have negative opinions of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Going back to Mr. Sain’s childhood memories of Jesus Christ’s teachings, something must have been left out, because Jesus said “By their fruits you shall know them.” He also said, in the parable of the wheat and the tares, “Let both grow together until the harvest, at which time I will say to the reapers, gather together first the tares and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.”
Real love is sacrificial, to some degree. The greatest proof of a love sacrifice can be seen on the cross of Calvary, where Jesus paid with His life to redeem anyone who would turn to Him for salvation.
“The love of God is in Christ Jesus, our Lord,” says Romans 8:39. Now you know where the love is.
