National Night Out is Tuesday, Aug. 2

The Town of Prescott Valley is asking residents to join in celebrating National Night Out by hosting a block party in their neighborhoods. Starting at about 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, Prescott Valley Police officers, department personnel and Town staff will visit as many of the parties as they can to mark NNO.

National Night Out is designed to increase awareness of crime and drug prevention, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs, and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. It also sends the message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Those who plan to host a block party or neighborhood gathering should register their event with Crime Prevention Office Traces Gordon by phone at 928-772-5161 or email at tgordon@pvaz.net. This will allow PVPD to schedule a law enforcement and town personnel visit to the gathering.

Registration forms can be found online at http://pvaz.net/354/National-Night-Out.
