Volunteers needed to fill backpacks

PRESCOTT – The Coalition for Compassion and Justice is seeking volunteers to help with its Fair Start back-to-school supply distribution project for low-income families.

Volunteers are needed to help fill the donated backpacks with supplies on July 27 and July 28 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the CCJ headquarters located in Esther Hall at the Prescott United Methodist Church at 505 W. Gurley St.

On July 29, volunteers are needed between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. to help set up the room for the distribution and on July 30 they are needed between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. for the actual distribution of backpacks and supplies and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with the cleanup efforts. Volunteers are also requested to help with the church’ Shoes for the Shepherd program that allows those picking up backpacks to get certificates for a new pair of shoes.
