Letter: Slow the growth

Editor:

I recently read an article in the Prescott Valley Tribune about the littering problem on Glassford Hill Road. Someone from the town council stated that the problem has grown due to the increased traffic. I also noticed signage along Highway 69 advising of “heavy traffic.” I have also read numerous articles in both the Tribune and the Courier about the need for comprehensive water policies in the region and the problem of decreasing ground water.

Yet, Prescott Valley continues to issue permits to build new homes, condominiums and apartment buildings. A March article in the Courier indicated that the town was thrilled with its growth and that it had become the largest community in Yavapai County.

Plans are in the works for thousands of new homes, condos and apartments. Where is the water coming from, how will the litter situation be affected, how will traffic be affected?

Believe it or not, living in a small town is not a bad thing.
