Tickets are now on sale for the summer’s premier wine-tasting event on the grounds of Sharlot Hall Museum: Sharlot’s WineFest.
Various iterations of this prestigious event have been held, but nothing like the one planned for Saturday, Aug. 20, beginning at 4 p.m. on the shaded museum campus.
“I’m excited about this event,” said Fred Veil, executive director at the Museum. “We’ve initiated several refinements to make this year’s WineFest absolutely stellar!”
Only 300 tickets to the event will be sold, said Veil, all via pre-sales. Tickets are $55 per person, or $100 per couple – first-come, first-served and available at the museum’s Depot.
The catered event will feature hors d’oeuvres and tastings from local restaurants, each personally selected by cooperating local restaurateur Barry Barbe of El Gato Azul. Participating food purveyors also include Soldi Creative Cuisine, Prescott Crush Wine Café, The Barley Hound, Park Plaza Deli and Goods from the Garden.
Featured wines provided by local distributor Action Wines will be available at multiple venues throughout the campus for sampling, and will be paired with food items. Craft beers and distilled spirits will be provided by The Prescott Brewing Co., Thumb Butte Distillery and Desert Diamond Distillery.
Three different entry gates will open at 4 p.m. that Saturday, with each ticket indicating which gate to use for easy admission.
“Guests will be handed a commemorative wine glass on entry,” adds Veil, “with their choice of red or white wine – an immediate tasting from one of the featured wineries for the WineFest... no waiting in a wine-line for the first pour.”
The four-acre campus will feature food and beverage samplings, the latter featuring exemplary wines, craft brews, and distilled spirits.
Musical entertainment and additional presentations are planned to make the event both fun and informative, says Veil. Tickets for the Sharlot’s WineFest are available at Sharlot’s Depot on the Museum grounds, at the Museum store, and by phone by calling the Museum at 928-445-3122, ext. 10.
Sharlot Hall Museum is located at 415 W. Gurley St. in Prescott, and will close early on Saturday, Aug. 20, to accommodate the special event. View the museum website at www.sharlot.org for details about the Wine-Fest.
