Wife allegedly runs down husband with car
CHINO VALLEY – A woman allegedly hit her estranged husband with her car after an argument Tuesday morning, July 5, then smashed into the house where their three children were in the living room, according to Sheriff’s spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn.
Jennifer Fletcher, 32, from Mesa, was at her husband’s house in the 1000 block of South Road 1 West at about 6:30 a.m.
She “made accusations against” the man, then began loading cans of gasoline into his truck, D’Evelyn said.
“When he tried to stop her, she got into her 2010 Toyota Prius and backed into him,” D’Evelyn said. “The assaultive action pinned him between her vehicle and his truck and he suffered injuries to his right leg and mid-section.”
He broke free and went into the house, but she ran the car into the house, striking the front door, near the living room and a few feet from the couple’s children.
The victim gathered the kids up and went into the back yard to wait for police.
When deputies arrived, Chino Valley Police were holding Fletcher.
She was charged with aggravated assault, felony criminal damage, and four counts of endangerment.
She was booked into the Camp Verde jail on a $7,500 bond.
The victim was not seriously injured.
