Local resident and author of "God Made Organics, Not GMOs," Karen vanPrice, is the guest speaker at the 10 a.m. service Sunday, Jan. 24, at Prescott Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 945 Rancho Vista Road.
Her newly released book informs readers about why genetically modified foods are dangerous to our health, and suggests what Americans need to do in order to secure their right to have access to healthy foods. The author is eager to educate people how to enjoy the benefits of eating healthy foods and achieve optimal health in the face of adversity. She will detail the history of our food source degradation going back over seventy years, relating the truths and myths she hopes will move us off the fence regarding GMOs.
VanPrice's own health revolution began 30 years ago and she currently owns and operates a yoga studio in Prescott where she encourages optimal living through diet and exercise. Her motivation to write the book, she explains, came from watching her grandchildren succumb to the side-effects of unhealthy eating.
Karen vanPrice was born in Southern California and is a self-employed artist, art educator, yoga studio owner and registered instructor, health advocate and author. Signed copies of her book will be available for sale after the service.
