Bagdad Unified School District Governing Board board member Golden Brimhall has relocated out of the school district, leaving a vacancy on the board.
The vacancy was effective Feb. 1. The long service that Brimhall provided to the District is greatly appreciated, Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter said.
All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply. Eligible applicants are: registered voters, at least 18 years old, United States citizens who possess their civil rights. They have continually resided within the school district for at least one year immediately preceding taking office, and the candidate or their spouse cannot be employed by the school district.

Deadline for receipt of letters of interest is Thursday, March 10, at 5 p.m. Carter will interview finalists at the Bagdad District Office on Monday, March 14. The appointment should be announced by Wednesday, March 16, and the successful candidate sworn in Thursday, March 17. The appointment will be valid only until December 31, 2016.
The successful candidate and all other interested community members will need to pull an election packet early in April to run for the seat, with a new term beginning on Jan. 1, 2017.
