Corridor Briefs: Breakfast at the Center is back

Today is when Breakfast at the Center will be held again. There will be a fixed menu and a new specialty item each month. Thanks to those who came to the first breakfast. We look forward to providing you with a cooked-to-order breakfast again. Breakfasts will continue on the third Saturday of each month. Cost is $5 for standard combinations, a little more or less for specialty items, and $1 for coffee or tea. The kitchen is open from 7 to 10 a.m. Community association members get free coffee when they show their membership card.

A Resource Fair will be held at the Cordes Lakes Community Center on February 23 from 9 to 11 a.m. This holds a wealth of information on keeping healthy.

The food program at Cordes Lakes Community Center is February 25. Sign up starts at 7 a.m. at 16357 S. Cordes Lakes Drive.

March 5 at 8 a.m., the High Dessert Heritage Museum will hold their Flea Market at 19600 E. Stagecoach.

March 10 is the CLCA meeting at 7 p.m. at the Center, 16357 S. Cordes Lakes Drive.

March 19 is the Mayer Area Meals on Wheels Walk-A-Thon with breakfast starting at 7 a.m., registration at 7:30 a.m., and the walk starting at 8 a.m. This is a major fundraising project for Meals on Wheels, 10051 S. Miami in Mayer Breakfast at the Center is also held on March 19, with breakfast starting at 7 a.m.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held at the Cordes Lakes Community Center, 16357 Cordes Lakes Drive, on March 26. Pastry and coffee will be available.

April 2 will be the craft and rummage sale at Cordes Lakes Community Center and it will start at 9 a.m.

April 14 is the Ladies Luncheon at Cordes Lakes Community Center with the theme of Garden Tea Party, serving a traditional English Tea along with fantastic entertainment.

WEEKLY EVENTS

Bingo is held every Wednesday at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. with sandwiches and snacks available, held at Cordes Lakes Community Center, 16357 S. Cordes Lakes Drive.  Jackpot varies weekly. No Bingo the day before Thanksgiving.

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is held weekly on Fridays at 20049 E. Club Lane. Weigh-in is at 8:45 a.m., with meetings starting at 9 a.m.

The Tuesday Planning Committee is changing their meeting time. They will meet at 6:00 p.m. at the Community Center, 16357 S. Cordes Lakes Drive on the first Tuesday of each month in order to accommodate those that work during the day. The meetings for the balance of Tuesdays will be at 9 a.m. Meetings are open to everyone and they are hoping to get the working people to attend to present their ideas by having it held in the evening.

United Teens meet every Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the Cordes Lakes Library,

15989 S. Cordes Lakes Drive. This group works together on fundraising and volunteering in the community.

Exercise Class is held at Cordes Lakes Community Center. Sessions are Tuesday and Thursday each week. That's 8 sessions for only $5. The fee covers the cost of building use.

Young Lives meets at the Cordes Lakes Community Center, 16357 S. Cordes Lakes Drive, Monday at 6:30 p.m.

Big Bug Charity Quilters meet every Monday at the Mayer Senior Center, 10051 Miami, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Beading is held Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. Beading Class is held every Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at the MAAC, 10051 Miami.

MONTHLY EVENTS

Storytime at the Cordes Lakes Public Library is held on the first Friday of the month, with Miss Cindy reading a story to the pre-schoolers at 3 p.m.  The library is located at 15989 S. Cordes Lakes Drive.

Big Bug Gem & Mineral Club holds their outings on the third Monday of the month with meetings held the following Tuesday at 7 p.m. at various members' homes.   Contact Ken Dunham at 928-899-6810 for more information. Meetings are held at member's homes and varies by month.
