Wells will spend life in state hospital

PRESCOTT – Jerry Lee Carter Wells, Jr., accused of three murders on Jan. 23, 2015, accepted an agreement to plead guilty but insane and was sentenced to natural life in the Arizona State Hospital.
Wells, 51, was charged with first-degree murder as well as other charges in connection with the beating deaths of his mother, Anita Wells, 75, and her two housemates, Jodi Reed, 47, and Mark Potter, 50.
Superior Court Judge Tina Ainley sentenced Wells to natural life in the Arizona State Hospital, meaning that he is ineligible for early release.
