Fancy That! boutique to sell scarves as Acker Night fundraiser

On Acker Night, Friday, Dec. 9, the Fancy That! boutique on South Granite Street will be selling 300 Buffalo plaid scarves for $10 with all the proceeds to benefit the Acker Night scholarship fund.

This will be the second year that owner Sara Murray will be selling these cashmere-type scarves to support the Acker Night musical scholarships for the community. Last year, the fundraiser generated $2,100 and this year she would like to sell out with a donation of $3,000 to the event.

In a news release, Murray stated that it is her vision to “have everyone wandering around downtown wearing the plaid scarf showing they have supported the Acker event.

For all 14 years she has owned her business, which has two locations across the street from one another, Murray has participated and sponsored a musician for Acker Night. This year, they will have musicians at both the clothing store at 124 S. Granite St. and in the Fancy That! Home and Holiday Store at 109 S. Granite St. The store, too, will offer its annual bon fire with complimentary s’mores and Santa has plans to stop in for photo opportunities.

The scarves will go on sale at 4:30 p.m. on Friday at both locations.

“This is our favorite night of the year and all for a good cause!” Murray said in a news release.
