George and Lupe Quintero celebrate 70 years of marriage
George and Lupe Quintero of Cottonwood celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Aug. 11. They were married at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Jerome, Arizona, in 1946.They grew up together in Jerome and were high school sweethearts. George served in the Navy from 1943 to 1945 then returned to Jerome.
George graduated from ASU and became a teacher in Bagdad, Arizona. He later became the Superintendent of the school. They left Bagdad in 1968 and moved to Prescott. They live in Cottonwood, where they have been for the past 20 years.
George and Lupe celebrated their anniversary at home with their children, Jennie, George Jr., Richard, Theresa and Renee. They have five grandchildren.
