Obituary: Beverly Kay King
Beverly Kay King, age 79, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, Aug. 12, 2016. She went peacefully with her loved ones around her while being tenderly cared for at the Marley Hospice House in Prescott, Arizona. She was born April 12, 1937, in West Virginia and grew up in the Detroit area, where she married David A. King (M1960-D1967) and then later moved to sunny California where she worked, played and raised her three daughters.
Kay was always a loving, kind, gentle spirit, who listened to everyone and made them feel special and loved. She will be missed every second of every day. She was our Mother and our best friend. She also played a mean slot machine and loved the Classic movies and could tell you everything about the movie stars, the music and the filming of the movie, she could have been a host on Turner Classic Movies!
She is survived by her sister Mary A. Herrick of Wyandotte, Michigan; her brother and sister-in-law Bill and Ella Nelson of Cornville, Arizona; her daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Darrel Leatherman of Paulden, Arizona, her daughter Tracy Murphey of Oakland, California, her daughter Susan King of Prescott, Arizona; and many good friends who were like family.
Her nephews and nieces in Michigan and Arizona were loved very much and also her precious grandsons, Justin Wilkins, Shane Wilkins, Joshua Collett-King, Jeremy Robinson, John Murphey and James Shye King; and of course, our family dog, Bear Boy King, who was a constant companion to the end.
ABC Funeral, Prescott Arizona, will be handling the cremation and private services will be at a later date.
