Obituary: Alphonse ‘Al’ Francis Lucier III
Alphonse “Al” Francis Lucier III, 70 of Greenville, North Carolina died Aug.9, 2016 at his home.
Al recently moved to Greenville from Prescott, Arizona. He was born to Lt. Col. Alphonse and Betty Lucier at Fort Benning, Georgia on Sept. 9, 1945.
Al had a number of careers, but he most often talked of his time working as a truck driver for North American Van Lines, traveling the 11 western states. Al enjoyed family time, reading, movies, TV and travel; spending time with his companion and pet Emily.
Al is survived by his children, Collette Lucier and Son-in-Law David Peterson of Bluffton, South Carolina; Aaron Lucier and son-in-law Clifton Hill of Winterville, North Carolina; and Alphonse “Lee” Lucier IV and Daughter-in-Law Heather Minnich of Hilton Head, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Landin, Quentin,
Healey, Bruyere and Escher; greatgrandchild, Emilia; brothers and sister, Peter and Joan Lucier of Boise, Idaho, Denise and Brent Gabrielsen of Apache Junction, Arizona; and Lt. Col. Chris and Rosie Lucier of Lincoln University, Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Charlene Lorraine Lucier; his parents, Lt. Col. Alphonse and Betty Lucier; sister and brother-in-law, Michele and Bob Powers; and granddaughter Killian Peterson.
His family will receive friends and extended family at his son’s home in Winterville, North Carolina and in Prescott, Arizona on dates in the near future. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to any animal welfare charity.
