Shade trees, historic buildings and grounds, and local restaurateurs showcasing food samples. Add some vintage wine – your choice of red or white – and the evening is perfect!
But you’d better hurry. Only a limited number of tickets remain available for the premier winetasting fundraiser at Sharlot Hall Museum set for Aug. 20, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Despite the overwhelming success and attendance of previous winetasting events at the Museum, officials of Sharlot’s WineFest chose “...to provide a more intimate and exclusive festival for enjoying the Museum setting and the fine food and wine available in our community,” suggests Fred Veil, executive director.
“We chose to pare down the attendance and pair up the food and wine tastings,” he added, acknowledging the efforts of local restaurant owner Barry Barbe, who has coordinated the efforts.
The owner of Prescott’s El Gato Azul has added such other food purveyors as Soldi Creative Cuisine, Prescott Crush Wine Café, Barley Hound, Park Plaza Deli and Goods from the Garden.
Each will feature food samplings to pair with and enhance the pourings of multiple varietals and vintage wines provided by Action Wines, as well as brew tastings from The Prescott Brewing Company and distilled spirit samplings from Thumb Butte Distillery and Desert Diamond Distillery.
“In addition, we have connected with Wine Cellar Experts of Scottsdale,” added Veil, “to have them present several short talks in the theater during WineFest to discuss the proper care and storage of fine wines.
“We want this event – already considered one of the finest in the community – to be the premier event of the summer season not only for the Museum, but for the community as well” added Veil.
A limited number of tickets remain available for the Museum fundraiser at $55 per person (or $100 a pair). Tickets may be purchased at the Museum entry or Museum store, as well as Prescott Crush Wine Café. When the full complement of 300 admission tickets are gone – that’s it... the event will be sold out.
