PRESCOTT – For the second time in a week, firefighters on Wednesday, April 27, responded to Granite Creek Park for a brush fire, Prescott Fire spokesman Conrad Jackson said.

The early afternoon blaze burned about a quarter-acre and generated a good deal of smoke, which drifted over the LaGuardia Bridge, causing it to be shut down to protect drivers.

Two children were seen leaving the area, and firefighters gave their descriptions to police officers.

Thursday, April 21, a fire in the same area also burned a quarter-acre. That fire was blamed on someone cooking heroin.
