Obituary: Gail S. Dagostino
Gail S. Dagostino died April 16, 2016, in Chino Valley after long battles with multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS) and Alzheimer’s disease.
Born Gail S. Repice, she had an early career in banking. She left banking to start and care for her family. Upon returning to the workplace, she entered her brother’s art studio as an officer of the corporation, an administrative assistant and a bookkeeper. In the evenings, she and her brother would teach ceramics classes at the art studio. She continued working with her brother until he relocated to Florida in 1975.
The remainder of her career was spent working in public and private accounting. In addition to her full time job, Gail owned her own business providing bookkeeping services. Her last employment was as controller for Hospice of Schenectady. She left Hospice in 1985 after being diagnosed with MCS.
In 1989, she and her husband moved to Prescott. During her time in Prescott, Gail was a crusader and advocate for those living with MCS. She even found time to author a book about chemically safe home building.
She is survived by daughter, Sondra Gail Dagostino-Powers; son-in-law, Fritz Powers; granddaughter, Bethany Sarah Powers; and a huge extended family.
She is predeceased by husband, Norman Patrick Dagostino; father, Gordon C. Repice; mother, Eva Boscia Repice; brother, Joseph Robert Repice; grandchildren, Joel Francis Powers, Shea Morgan Powers and Liam Michael Powers.
A celebration of Life service will be at noon on April 23, 2016, at ABC Memorial Chapel, a reception to follow and a graveside service will be at 2 p.m. at Arizona Pioneer Cemetery. Please wear brightly colored clothing to her bon voyage party at noon on April 23.
