Letter: Gratitude over help
Myself, my husband and our son were in the Wal-Mart on Glassford Hill earlier in the evening on April 4. While we were there, our 20-year-old son, who has severe Epilepsy had a tonic clonic seizure (Grand Mal) in the restroom. My husband was waiting outside of the restroom for him when he heard someone calling out to our son asking if he was okay and then the gentleman came out to alert someone. My husband went inside and realized it was our son. I was paged overhead to come to the front of the store when I quickly learned what had happened and a store employee took me inside. One employee called 911 and the paramedics came and took him to YRMC East where later he did come home and is doing fine. We wanted to say thank you to the store manager Sean and all of the other employees who helped in every way they did, even in small ways and for reacting very quickly and helping to keep the situation under control. They all handled the situation very well. Also to the very nice gentleman who happened to be in the right place at the right time, I am sorry we did not get your name, but thank you also for your help and staying calm and being so kind to our son and to us. It proves there are kind strangers out there who still want to help others out. A true act of kindness. Also thank you to the wonderful paramedics. We appreciated everything everyone had done to help our son.
