Man arrested for assault on Chino Valley man
CHINO VALLEY– Police arrested a suspect after they located the victim of an assault Tuesday, April 5, laying on a road, seriously injured, a police detective said.
About 8:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of east Perkinsville Road and M.A. Perkins Trail for an injured person in the roadway, Chino Valley Police Det. Mark Garcia said.
When they arrived, police found a 33-year-old man “who had been severely beaten about the head and face,” Garcia said. The victim was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center for treatment.
He is in critical condition with multiple broken bones in his face.
After investigating further, police arrested Ladd A. Parker, 30, of Chino Valley, on charges of aggravated assault and extreme DUI and booked him into the Camp Verde jail.
“Parker and the victim got into an altercation for unknown reasons,” Garcia said.
“We’ve been unable to speak to (the victim) due to his medical condition,” he added.
He said that police do not believe there are any other suspects outstanding.
