From the U.S. National Weather Service from Flagstaff: An interesting development today, cold air aloft combined with weakly rotating thunderstorms produced this near Paulden at around 11:20 a.m. This is a well formed funnel cloud, not a tornado. Storms throughout Yavapai County are capable of producing similar features through the afternoon.
The forecast: Today, showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 59. South wind around 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
Tonight, a 40 percent chance of showers, mainly before 11 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. South southeast wind 5 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
