Kenneth Iversen

Kenneth Mads Iversen passed away in Prescott, Arizona on March 31, 2016, after a three-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 78.

Ken was a strong and caring man with a great sense of humor, a deep love of family and who had a special talent for connecting with everyone he met – qualities that earned him numerous friends and admirers.

He was born on Jan. 16, 1938, to Janet Hepburn Small Iversen and Merle G. Iversen in Oakland, California. After a successful career in Southern California, he and Jacque, his wife of 56 years, moved to Prescott, Arizona, where he served as the Chairman of the Prescott Area Wilderness Urban Interface Committee until health issues forced his retirement.

Ken’s passions included nature hikes with his beloved Jacque, following UCLA sports and being active in his grandchildren’s lives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Suzanna Wallace. He is survived by his loving wife, Jacque Burr Iversen; sons Stephen and Robert Iversen; sister Tish Sammon; grandchildren Alexander Iversen, Caroline Iversen, Halena Iversen, Johanna Iversen, Aiden Iversen; and his extended family of nieces and nephews, sister- and brothers-in-law.

Per Ken’s request, no service will be held currently but please hug those you love in his memory. He was a very good hugger!
