Yavapai College's Equine Department to Host YC Horse Show on Sept. 26
The Yavapai College Horse Show is trotting back to the Chino Valley Agribusiness Center at 2275 Old Home Manor Drive in Chino Valley after a four-year hiatus.
"The last time we held an equine event at the Chino Valley Center was in 2011," said Karla Phillips, Associate Dean of the center. "We haven't had someone to manage the event again until this year."
This all breed, multi-discipline show presented by the Yavapai College Equine Sciences Department will take place on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will feature English, Western, Halter, Showmanship, Leadline, Trail and other styles to promote hands-on learning opportunities available to students and the community through YC's equine classes.
Exhibitor fees are $8.00 per class and $5.00 per horse with free parking and admission for spectators. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs because seating is limited. Additionally, food vendors and other booths will be set up at the show to encourage people to stay for the show's duration.
"We're looking forward to hosting another equine event at our arena that serves the community and helps people learn about our Equine Practitioner program," Phillips said.
