The New Yavapai Economy: Employment & Wages in Yavapai County

Communities across Yavapai County are becoming increasingly cognizant of the importance of a diversified economy that captures dollars from outside the region through exports, including tourism, and retains the circulation of local wages in the economy by supporting job creation in various industry sectors at multiple skill levels.

Top producing industry sectors in the county are healthcare, manufacturing, hospitality, and retail and wholesale trade. That said, in effort to prepare our local workforce for current jobs and those that lie ahead, we must dig deeper into those occupations that have the largest quantity of jobs and those occupations that have the greatest earnings. In 2015, the largest occupations are in retails sales, construction, hospitality, and administrative jobs in information and record keeping. The highest paying occupations, are health diagnosing and treating practitioners, operations management, and those professional, technical and scientific occupations. Topping the list for both quantity of jobs and highest earnings are those in the healthcare field.
