Jason Nance, owner of B&M Painting, Inc. in Chino Valley, said when he was first approached about freshening up the paint on the town's Sept. 11, 2001 Memorial at Memory Park, he thought it over.

"I wanted to see how we could do this without costing the town any money," Nance said.

He called Sherwin-Williams' Paul Hughes, who readily agreed to provide the up to 10 gallons of paint. Nance then supplied the labor and last week they completed the project.

The memorial was built in 2003 and the paint had not been updated in the 12 years since then, Nance said.
