Man charged in deadly January truck vs. bicycle crash
PRESCOTT - The Yavapai County Attorney's Office has filed charges against the driver of a pickup truck that struck and killed a bicyclist in January.
Toby Beaty, 37, of Prescott, was arrested Sunday, Oct. 18 and charged with manslaughter and two counts of misdemeanor DUI in connection with the death of Amber "Cricket" Harrington, Chief Deputy Yavapai County Attorney Dennis McGrane said.
Harrington, 23, was killed after she was hit from behind by the pick-up, just before 5 p.m. Jan. 16, on White Spar Road near Copper Basin Road.
Harrington was from California and was a recent graduate of
Sheriff's spokesman Dwight D'Evelyn said Beaty "self-surrendered at the Camp Verde jail" Sunday.
He's being held on a $250,000 bond.
