Joan Enoch, M.D., semi-retired psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, is the guest speaker at the Sunday, Oct. 18, 10 a.m. service at Prescott Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 945 Rancho Vista Road, Prescott. Her topic will be "Dining for Women," which is an organization with 500 small groups around the United States whose members meet over a meal and provide donations to support the poorest women and children throughout the world. Joan was introduced to Dining for Women at a dinner in Oregon about five years ago. She was very impressed with the organization and when she moved to Prescott started a chapter here. At the presentation, Ms. Enoch will show short films about the recipients of such grants in several countries. She is hoping to spark an enthusiasm for the movement, which will lead to more people hosting these dinners. Ms. Enoch's current occupation is doing telepsychiatry for a community mental health center in Phoenix, working with the seriously mentally ill. She also facilitates classes for OLLI in poetry and Buddhist Psychology.

Peculiar People Community Choir from the Phoenix area is coming to Living Waters Church, 7367 E. First St., Prescott Valley for the 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. services on Sunday, Oct. 25.

"Trunk 'n Treat" event will be Oct. 31 from 4 to 7 p.m. hosted by the First Southern Baptist Church of Prescott Valley in their parking lot. The Lutheran Women's Missionary League's annual Christmas Bazaar and Bake Sale at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church will be take place on Friday, Nov. 20, and Saturday, Nov. 21, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to the hand-crafted goods made by our members, this year's event will also feature items handmade by other local vendors. Food for a light lunch will also be available for purchase. Shepherd of the Hills is located at 1202 Green Lane in Prescott. All proceeds from this event will benefit our mission projects, all of which are located in the tri-city area. Mountain View Baptist Church, 395 Pony Place in Dewey, will host a gospel music concert with "Brush Arbor Revival" from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25. Prescott Seventh Day Adventist Church will be offering plant-based cooking classes through Oct. 27 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Classes include a cookbook entitled "Give Them Something Better" meal samples, cooking demonstrations and health talks. St Catherine Labouré Catholic Church, 2062 N. Highway 89 in Chino Valley, ladies' guild present their annual Christmas Bazaar where a network of local craftsman will display their wares. Friday, Nov. 6 and Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Home baked goods and lunch items also will be available. Raffles and giveaways throughout this two-day event. Trinity Lutheran Women's Missionary League is sponsoring its eighth annual Holiday Craft Show and Bake Sale on Saturday, Nov. 7. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Trinity Hall in the God's World Building, 3950 N. Valorie Drive in Prescott Valley. The public is invited to come and shop for "Made in the USA" crafts and home-baked goods. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be for sale at lunch. Community Bible Study (a non-denominational in-depth Bible Study available to all) will be hosting their Women's Study for 2015/2016 at Hillside Community Church, 937 Ruth St., across from Prescott Senior High School. The group will meet from through May 4, 2016.The topic will be "From the Red Sea to the Jordan," (Exodus through Numbers). The Anglian Church of the Holy Spirit announces they have moved to a new location. They are now meeting in the fellowship hall at the Prescott Valley United Methodist Church, 8944 E. Sommer Drive, Prescott Valley.

Sunday worship is at 9 a.m., featuring a Holy Communion service with music and using contemporary language. They have an active healing ministry, as well as regular study groups. They are a warm, loving Christian family and welcome visitors and new members.

All Saints Anglican Church of Prescott started a service of Morning Prayer each weekday morning at 8 a.m., meeting in the chapel, 1806 N. Savage Lane, Prescott. The service is taken from the Book of Common Prayer (1928). The service is geared for those who desire a more disciplined spiritual life, to gather to pray, to confess our sins, to hear Holy Scriptures read aloud, and to pray for others. The service has been done in English since 1549 in a variety of Books of Common Prayer, and has been a part of the spiritual life of Anglican Christians as long. Faith in Fitness classes take place Tuesdays at noon and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. at First Southern Baptist Church Prescott Valley, 2820 Pleasant View Drive. Compassionate Friends, a support group for parents who have lost a child at any age or however long ago, meets the second Tuesday of each month at Prescott United Methodist Church, 505 W. Gurley St. Pastor Carol Mumford leads the group, and any community member who has lost a child may attend. This is just one of the support groups that meets each month at PUMC. Other groups offer support for those with health issues such as breathing problems, cancer, depression and fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue.
